Terms

The rules for using AwenGate, in plain English.

Last updated 1 October 2026

Who runs AwenGate

AwenGate (www.awengate.com) is run by Jay, an individual based in the UK. It is free to use. Jay is the person responsible for the site, including keeping it safe under the Online Safety Act 2023. You can reach us at hello@awengate.com.

Who can join

  • You must be 18 or over. If we find out an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.
  • One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is posted from your account.
  • Your username is public. Don’t use someone else’s name or anything offensive.

How we treat each other

When you join you agree to these terms and the community guidelines. In short: be kind about other people’s experiences, question ideas rather than people, and put a content warning on anything heavy.

What you must not post

  • Anything illegal in the UK.
  • Offers to sell, swap, give or source drugs, or asking where to get them. Talking about experiences and safety is fine; supplying is not.
  • Anything that encourages or helps someone to harm themselves or end their life.
  • Harassment, threats, hate, or abuse aimed at anyone.
  • Other people’s private information, or intimate images of anyone.
  • Scams, spam, or advertising.
  • Anything sexual involving children. We report this to the police and the Internet Watch Foundation.

Posts here are personal experience, not professional advice. Nobody should give medical advice or tell anyone to stop taking prescribed medication.

AwenGate is a place for exploring consciousness, not a support service. If you need help urgently, see where to get it.

Your posts

What you write stays yours. By posting it, you let AwenGate show it on the site, to everyone, including people who aren’t members and search engines. You can edit or delete your own posts at any time. You are responsible for what you post.

Reports and complaints

If you see something that breaks these rules, use the Report link under it. If you can’t log in, or want to complain about something else, email hello@awengate.com.

What happens next:

  • An Elder reads every report, usually within two days.
  • Anything that looks illegal is taken down as soon as an Elder sees it.
  • Where the law requires it, we pass information to the police or other authorities.
  • If your post was hidden or removed and you think we got it wrong, email hello@awengate.com and say why. Someone will look at it again and tell you the outcome.

What we can do

To keep the forum safe we may hide, lock, move or remove posts, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We keep a record of these actions.

Leaving

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. The privacy policy explains what happens to your data.

The legal part

AwenGate is a free community site, provided as it is. We can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and we aren’t responsible for what members post. Nothing here limits any rights you have under UK consumer law, or our liability for anything the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll say so on the forum and update the date at the top. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
